In an environment strongly influenced by digitisation and uncertainty, management accountants have a pivotal role to play in driving sustainable business success, as well as setting strategic goals linked to the evolving hi-tech global context.
This is why CIMA launched its 2023 Call for Proposals Management accounting and control.
The areas of exploration that are encouraged by this CIMA's Call for Proposals include:
- Digitalisation, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications such as ChatGPT;
- Cybersecurity;
- Sustainability, including ESG;
- Strategy and Innovation;
- Enterprise Risk Management;
- Evolution of the workplace, including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion;
- Hybrid workplace;
- New skills and mindsets required by management accountants.
CIMA welcomes proposals that examine these topics within a specific business or industry sector as well as those more general in scope.
This call encourages PhD students, and those within five years of completing a PhD, experienced researchers, and recipients of early-career grants.
Researchers are required to produce a 3,000-word report for a business audience summarizing their research project and its findings and, critically, its implications for management accounting practice.
Closing date: Friday 25 August.
