Call for Papers: Special Issue on “The Reflective Practitioner: Learning Beyond the Business School”
While some progress has been made in integrating responsible management education (RME) across business school courses, little attention is paid to integration across the various forms of professional education elsewhere in the university and outside university boundaries.
The Journal of Business Ethics Education (JBEE) is therefore planning a special issue on RME beyond the business school. We seek papers that explore strategic partnerships between universities/business schools and other university curricula, as well as service learning, executive education, consultancy, in- house training programs, and corporate universities. We encourage submissions from disciplines beyond management, and inter-disciplinary perspectives combining management disciplines with professional and occupational disciplines.
Submissions may include high-quality research papers, empirical studies of teaching experience with clearly-defined learning outcomes, case studies accompanied by rigorous teaching notes, other materials for classroom use, conceptual pieces, and literature reviews. Possible themes include, but are not limited to the following aspects of RME beyond the business school:
-
Emerging trends and issues influencing RME.
-
Delivery methods and learning methods.
-
Evaluation of learning methods.
-
Embedding RME in other subjects, such as accounting.
-
Making RME more advanced and globally available.
-
Teaching methodologies appropriate for a non-business-school setting.
-
Bridging the gap between RME in universities and industry best practice.
-
Role of RME for students as future international managers.
-
Challenges in cross-cultural RME.
-
Specific topics such as sustainability, sustainable development goals, environment, and climate change.
JBEE is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to the enhancement of business ethics training in universities and companies. It publishes high-quality articles related to pedagogy, as well as case studies and other teaching materials.
Final Date for Submissions: 31st January, 2017.
