ABIS Global Talent Forum
On December 3, ABIS and Unilever launched their inaugural Global Talent Forum for Sustainable Business in the United Kingdom. Hosted by Doug Baillie, Unilever’s Chief HR Officer and Chair of ABIS’ Advisory Board, the event brought together 25 senior HRM, People and Talent executives from some of the world’s corporate sustainability champions, including IBM, Solvay, Accenture, McKinsey, and Vodafone.
The Global Talent Forum opened an important dialogue among industry leaders around the key skills, values and mindsets that will be required for business to build sustainable long-term competitiveness in an increasingly volatile, uncertain world. Polly Courtice, Director at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership and Chair of the ABIS 2014 Colloquium, delivered a powerful opening keynote speech, in which she framed the leadership challenges of today and tomorrow in the context of COP 21 and the incredible opportunity climate action represents for business innovation in talent development.
The Forum is expected to reconvene in the first half of 2016, featuring a broader, more engaged dialogue with industry, business schools and universities about the implications for future talent development, curriculum innovation and new learning models, and to map pathways for deeper collaboration between business and academia on an ambitious change agenda.
