Workshop Description
Programme participants
The programme is ideally suited for organisational leaders with middle or senior management experience. Leaders at these levels of responsibility often know what the right thing to do is, but need to be equipped with the competencies of how to do it in the best way possible.
Programme duration
The programme runs over 2 and a half days. It contains pre-course orientation, course attendance, and post-course networking follow-up.
Quality assurance
The programme’s learning approach is based on the world-renowned and popular ‘Giving Voice to Values’ method of Mary Gentile of the University of Virginia-Darden School of Business.
Presenters
The programme will be facilitated by Prof Mollie Painter-Morland of Nottingham Business School in the UK and Prof Maha ElShinnawy of the American University of Cairo, Cairo.
Intended learning outcomes
At the end of the Programme, the participants will be able to:
- motivate the importance of value- and purpose alignment inorganizations
- exercise the skills and capacities to act on your values in complex situations
- demonstrate cross-sectoral understanding in their specificcontext
- develop cross-sectoral cooperation strategies towards ethical and sustainable business practices
- manage ethical organizational cultures through ethicalhabituation
- assess corruption risk and master best practice strategies for managing these risks
Practical application
- A full write-up of a personal/business dilemma which participants will have the opportunity to work on during the course of the programme.
- The development of a post-course action plan for workplace implementation during the course of the programme.
- Personal reflections on the meaning of values-driven leadership in action in the lives of participants.
Programme cost
The programme cost for the 13-15 November 2017 workshop at GIBS Business School, in Johannesburg will be $800 per person, which covers training, lunches and refreshments, but excludes accommodation and travel. Please contact esther.franzsen@abis-global.org
