ABIS Academic member from Portugal, INDEG-IUL ISCTE Executive Education, has developed a 2-day intensive course for leaders. “CSR, Sustainability and New Opportunities for Portugal” is a challenging and high-impact learning experience which aims to explore the contribution of sustainability strategies towards a more successful company and society. Course Summary
The course will focus upon CSR and its practical implications with special reference to Portugal and its recent financial issues. Starting from a discussion on what CSR and sustainability is all about, we shall start with a clear and useful definition to help you understand the maze of terms that are being used as well as how they link to other concepts, such as those defined by ISO26000, the EU, the UN Global Compact, GRI 4, etc. This course will also look at the challenges as well as techniques available to measure CSR impact.

This course is designed for delegates who are seeking to understand the complexities of measuring corporate social, environmental and economic impacts and who wish to understand and work with the available techniques.The course will be taught in English.
Lecturers
Michael Hopkins, PhD Economics. Michael is Chair and Partner of MHCi, has worked in the Corporate sector (IBM, BAT, ITT/STC, Addax, UEFA, BP), the United Nations (ILO, UNDP, WFP, UNIDO, UNITAR), The World Bank and in Academia (IDS Sussex, QEH Oxford, Middlesex, Geneva Universities), and has held a number of Professorships (Middlesex, Brunel, George Mason University). In 2013 he was included in the top 100 thought leaders across the world.
